A Cherished Lakeside Wedding

Steven and Molly met 8 years ago at a TGI Friday’s. Steven was out watching a Braves baseball game with his friends and Molly’s best friend, Britney, said she wanted to stop by and say hi to one of Steven’s friends. Britney had other plans as well, for Molly and Steven to meet.

“We talked and found out we had much in common like both being from Italian families and being book nerds,” said Molly. “In 2018, Steven asked me to marry him and we decided on 2020 for our wedding. Little did we know what was coming!”

“We got married on March 21, 2020, at my parents house out by the lake in Havana, Florida. We are lucky that my parents and in-laws lived close. This was right as Tallahassee was starting to see the impacts of COVID-19. Steven was the best during the weeks leading up to the wedding, he kept telling me, “we are going to get married to one another, that is all that matters.” While I did lose focus of that at times it turned out wonderful.”

“We had some friends and family attend and it was a small wedding, which was perfect for us! The theme featured succulents and was very outdoorsy and rustic.”

“We had friends record toasts and one friend play acoustically under the tent for a special treat! Steven and I love “yacht rock” so Jake had tunes going all night while people danced and celebrated. Steven made some awesome food decisions. Catering Capers was amazing and so easy to work with.”

“Steven and I ended the night with him in his boat captain’s hat and I in sweatpants and a tee! It was the perfect wedding celebration!”

“Since the wedding we have been in the house together for months, but it could be worse. At least I get to spend every day with my best friend, which would really be my biggest advice throughout it all, just remember, the day is about marrying your best friend.”
