One of Our Own Ties the Knot in a Gorgeous Capital City Wedding

By Janecia Britt

Mackenzie Little is a Sales and Events Coordinator at Rowland Publishing, owner of Northwest Florida Weddings Magazine.

As a team, we are very excited to share her and her husbands love story and details from their big day with you.

We wish Mr. and Mrs. Little all the love and happiness in the world.

When Mackenzie Ligas and Tim Little met freshman year of high school, it wasn’t exactly love at first sight. But the friendship they built from high school to college was filled with many hardships, laughs and memories.

When they finally turned their friendship into a relationship, it was full speed ahead. “We got engaged at the beautiful Maclay Gardens and bought a house within the same week,” says the new Mrs. Little.

It was obvious they had found a home not only in Tallahassee but also in each other. “We knew we wanted to get married in Tallahassee, although it’s not our hometown, this is where we grew up together and committed to spending the rest of our lives together.”

“We wanted a simple and elegant venue; The Woman’s Club of Tallahassee was perfect to embrace our theme of Southern, boho chic. I wanted the rich, warm garnet color and vibrant gold to compliment the eucalyptus and rose décor. Coupled with Tim and the groomsmen in all black, plus my edgy dress by Chic Nostalgia, it was dramatic, yet simple.

“Being in the events business for my profession, I already knew who our top vendor choices were. We began reaching out within the first month of being engaged to lock them in. Social Catering & Events, Alicia Osborne Photography, Selfietally and Amplify Entertainment were the vendors we immediately emailed.

“Although flowers are a must for a wedding, I did not want to spend a small fortune on that service. I was scrolling Instagram and stumbled upon Something Borrowed Blooms, a locally owned company out of Louisiana, and I can honestly say they over delivered. The quality of their service and faux-floral arrangements blew me out of the water!

“My friend Meredith Brooks is a graphic designer and does incredible work. I gave her some examples of what we wanted for our save the dates, invitations and overlay to look like, and she ran with it. It was so awesome to have a personal touch from a friend throughout our engagement and the big day.

“Amplify Entertainment paired us with DJ Dexter, and it was more than we could’ve imagined. He read the crowd vibes, played our favorite tunes and even danced with us to get all guests engaged!”

I have two favorite moments from our wedding day. One was our first look at a park with our first puppy-son, Teddy, our wedding party and moms surrounding us. It was so special to have the people who mean the most to us there to share the moment. The other was our hand-written ceremony, personalized vows and love-letter wine box. We wanted our ceremony to be meaningful and memorable for our guests. Months after saying “I do,” our guests are still telling us about how special our ceremony was.”
