Everyone hears about wild bachelorette weekends to Vegas. However, it’s sometimes nice to vacay a little closer to home. Meet Summer Griffith, founder, and owner of Drip Drop Fitness and the blogger behind mermaidstilettos.com. Her bachelorette weekend on scenic 30A proves that you don’t need to go far to have the best time with your right-hand ladies.
“I was just 16 years old when Christian and I met in high school. We became quick friends and it was only a year later that we started dating. 6 years later we got married and it was the best day of my life. I was super excited when I started wedding planning and approached it with an open mind. We’ve all heard horror stories so I really tried to just have an outlook of excitement the entire time, who couldn’t? It’s literally the best time of your life!”
“What really helped me was being very decisive. We only had a 7-month long engagement, which honestly helped a lot with the decisiveness, because I couldn’t twiddle my thumbs around for a month trying to decide on flowers. I would research what I liked, go with my gut, and move on to the next! I also was running my fitness business in Tallahassee full time so I really had to compartmentalize and build lists.”
“My best friend, Fiona, was my maid of honor! We met freshman year of college at lunch in our sorority house. We were best friends from that day on. Fiona is so detailed and proactive that she was such a huge help on the wedding day and everything leading up to it. Fiona actually handled my entire bachelorette weekend and I didn’t lift a finger in the planning.”
“For the bachelorette weekend, we stayed at The Pointe 30A – which was so beautiful! The pool was huge, the staff was very friendly, and the breakfast spot on site was delicious. It was a perfect place to stay in 30A because we were walking distance to the beach, you could rent bikes, lounging by the pool felt super relaxing, and the rooms were beautiful and big! It accommodated all 9 of us that weekend!”
“I wanted to have my bachelorette party on the coast because I love the beach. I had never been to Rosemary Beach and I love exploring new places. It also served as a convenient meeting spot for all the girls that came! Some of my friends traveled from Tallahassee, Atlanta, Jacksonville, and South Florida.”
“From walking around town, having drinks at the Pearl and meeting locals and visitors alike, it was such an amazing weekend celebrating with my favorite girls.”
