This Local Engagement Shoot is What Tallahassee Dreams Are Made Of

Nothing is more Tallahassee than Proof Brewing Company and Midtown Pies. Matt and Kelly Ferris perfectly represent that local love in their engagement shoot. Their shoot just like their love story is as unconventional as they come.

“Matt and I met in Russian class my sophomore year of college. He’d come into class in slow motion, always wearing tie-dye shirts and cradling his motorcycle helmet in his arm. To me, he was a teenage dream I could fawn over. Needless to say, he barely talked to me the whole semester.”

“Around finals time, I mustered up all my unrequited desire to ask him out for coffee. His response…”Thanks, I don’t really like coffee. My heart was hugely disappointed. Then, out of nowhere, in late December I got a text from him saying he was at a model train exhibit (I made an off-hand comment in class once about how cool trains are). He created a dropbox file filled with videos and photos of the exhibit and the rest between us is rust and stardust.”

“Five years later, I planned an awesome vacation for us in Banff, Canada. When we got there, we couldn’t believe all the beautiful things there were to look at. Without hinting even a little, he got down in an on-a-knee/squat mix and stuttered over every word. I was stunned. He handed me the box and quickly snatched it back to put the ring on my finger.”
