The Campbells got the best of two worlds, beach and backyard, at intimate wedding weekend
Lizzie and Jack Campbell know what they want. The Memphis couple was set on an intimate fall wedding on the beach. As soon as Jack got down on one knee at the White River in Arkansas, they knew they wanted to tie the knot soon. With four months to plan, they enlisted the help of a company they had confidence in — SunQuest Beach Weddings.
While both are from Memphis, they didn’t know one another until they met by chance at the University of Arkansas. They quickly became friends and remained that way, dating other people, until they graduated. Both had been in love with one another without admitting it until they made the relationship official in the summer of 2021.
When Jack proposed in July 2022, they both knew they wanted to marry on the beach, particularly the 30A area, where they had vacationed as children. They began their search for an all-inclusive, destination experience.
Lizzie reached out to many planners, but was most impressed with SunQuest Beach Weddings due to their timely replies and can-do attitude. The SunQuest team didn’t view a four-month planning period as a problem.
With email, phone calls and a weekend trip with her mom, Lizzie was able to plan her dream wedding without worry.
“From the start, the SunQuest team went above and beyond,” said Lizzie. “They are easy to work with, take initiative and provide plenty of options. Even from miles away, I always knew I was in good hands and had nothing to worry about in the planning process.”
For the wedding weekend, SunQuest Beach Weddings arranged for the couple and their families to stay at Villa Blanco, a waterfront vacation rental house in Holiday Isle. The rental slept 40 guests and is equipped as an event space with a spacious courtyard with a private pool.
The Destin location centrally located for guests arriving at the Destin, Pensacola and Panama City airports. The rehearsal dinner was conducted right at Villa Blanco. The SunQuest catering team set up a backyard shrimp boil.
On the day of the wedding, as Lizzie, her sister, her mother and sisters-in-law got ready in a large upstairs room overlooking the Gulf, the SunQuest team set up the beachside ceremony location and the reception space in the courtyard outside.
“As soon as we arrived for the weekend, SunQuest was there to help with anything and everything,” said Lizzie. “It was so relaxing to be getting ready and know everything was taken care of. I didn’t have to do any work on my wedding day. I simply got to enjoy every moment.”
The SunQuest Beach Weddings team helped the couple select Henderson State Park as their ceremony location. The couple made their way through the sugary sand to a stunning circular floral arrangement, where they were married by Jack’s father. Lizzie’s bouquet and floral arrangements featuring baby blue and white hues were all arranged by SunQuest’s florists.
October 7, 2022, was a remarkable beach day, ideal for the sunset photographs the couple envisioned. The 50-person guest list consisting of family and close friends headed back to Villa Blanco to enjoy the home’s green space which was set up with tables, chairs and decor that the couple had rented.
For dinner, guests dined on smoked yellow fin tuna dip, spinach artichoke dip and crab cake appetizers and wine braised short rib with smoked tomato cream sauce for the entree, all prepared by SunQuest’s catering team. They danced the night away in the courtyard surrounding the pool under stars and string lights.
The next day, the couple and their guests woke to a 50-person catamaran pulling up to Villa Blanco’s dock. Through Sun Ventures, SunQuest helped the couple plan a celebratory day on the water.
“It was the perfect weekend, and I would do it all again in a heartbeat,” Lizzie said. “I got to marry my best friend while being surrounded by my guests the entire weekend. SunQuest helped me to plan my dream wedding weekend.”
